2009 Update

The new year has brought us home from the holidays in Utah to a new work rotation for Brent and exciting adventures for Kaison and Cryssi as they wait indoors for it to warm up outside.
Brent is actually liking his job now!! He had to get "Top Secret" clearance for his new rotation and has already been on two week-long training trips within the first two months of the year! (Each time I hear "Top Secret" I can't help but sing "secret agent man" in my head!! Hee, hee!!) This clearance with be a huge commodity for Brent's resume when the time comes to look for another job. (That is if he decides he can't take a secure government job any longer, or the east coast for that matter.)




Cryssi is filling her days with running after Kaison, trying to teach herself how to play the piano (that we got for free off of craigslist), running after Kaison, cleaning up the house with Kaison's help, doing a little bit of Avon, creating things with her new sewing machine, and running after Kaison. Hence, there are several projects in the making around the house and few of them completed... I'm really excited to have the weather warm up soon, as I can take Kaison to the beach with friends and spend some time outside of the house and soak up some rays, oh glorious sunshine.
Kaison is ruling the roost. He knows how to say a bazillion words and is working on putting them into coherent sentences! His longest one so far is "Daddy goes downstairs and get a drink." He told me this right after Brent said he was going to go downstairs and get a drink, I was sitting next to both of them...Too cute! He's also developed an interest in the toilet and all those who sit on it at the current moment that they rest upon it. As he's figured out how to open the doors around the house; if you don't lock it, and can handle him crying outside the door until you unlock it, you have no privacy. This wouldn't be too bad, except the bedroom window that is open to the front of the house allows passersby the opportunity to glance directly into the bathroom, and consequently the toilet and its said occupants. So visitors beware, lock the door! Kaison is also attending Nursery at church and might get used to playing with the other kids soon, so far, he does NOT like Daddy to leave him.

As a family, we're enjoying our callings, (Brent's still the Elder's Quorum President and Cryssi still teaches in Primary), our wonderful friends here and the times we get to share with them, and our family that we get to see via web-cams. How we really do appreciate technology!!
